Tyler Glasnow, a native of Newhall, California, was widely regarded as one of the top prospects in all of baseball upon being drafted in the 5th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2011. Glasnow was later traded to the Tampa Bay Rays in 2018, where he ascended to become one of the most promising and electric young pitchers in MLB. In December 2023, Glasnow was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers. In 2024, he helped guide Los Angeles to a World Series championship.
A fun-loving personality, Glasnow has used Players’ Weekend to showcase his nicknames “Baby Giraffe” and “Mini Horse,” which accurately depict his tall frame and size 16 shoe size. During his high school years, Glasnow won a silver medal in the high jump at the USATF Junior Olympics held in Miami in 2003.
