Making history during Tokyo 2020, Stefanie Dolson stunned opposing defenses as Team USA’s dominant post player, earning the first gold medal in 3×3 Basketball’s Olympic debut. No stranger to winning, she led UCONN to a 40-0 season and back-to-back NCAA Championships in 2013 and 2014. Stef was the No. 6 pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft by the Washington Mystics before winning a WNBA title with the Chicago Sky in 2021, and finding a home with the New York Liberty. In February 2024, she rejoined the Mystics. She constantly distinguishes herself on the court with her high basketball IQ, smooth passing, and unselfish style of play.
A hardworking, tenacious and strong leader, Stefanie’s charisma and joyous personality set her apart. Known for her candid interviews, dance moves (showcased on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon) and style, Stef’s legend status was cemented when she put bunny ears on President Obama during a photoshoot while visiting the White House, where she also challenged Obama to a dance-off.
Also an outspoken advocate for equality and inclusion, Stef spoke to ESPN about the fluid nature of her sexuality and being a role model for young people: “Not everyone in the WNBA needs to be out, but I feel called to lead an authentic life in the open. I know who I am and I don’t care if people judge me. I’m 6’5, and I dye my hair purple and experiment a lot with fashion. My motto is: If they’re going to stare, they might as well stare at something fun.”
Confident, stylish, and unapologetically herself, Stef was featured as a part of Abercrombie and The Trevor Project’s “Face Your Fierce” campaign, which highlighted inspirational stories of inner strength and bold acts of kindness. The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ youth.
