Robbie Hummel is a college basketball studio and in-game analyst for Big Ten Network, Fox Sports, and NBC. A star for the Purdue Boilermakers at the collegiate level and an NBA veteran, he helped power the USA to gold medal glory at the 2019 FIBA 3×3 World Cup, also winning MVP of the event and subsequently being named the 2019 USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year.
Hummel was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft. Despite battling through injuries during his professional career, he played two seasons, 2013-14 and 2014-15, for the T-Wolves.
Hailing from Valparaiso, Indiana, Hummel established himself as one of the top college basketball players in the country at Purdue. During his first three years, the Boilermakers tallied a 81-25 record, advanced to three NCAA Tournaments, including the 2009 and 2010 NCAA Sweet Sixteen, and captured the 2009 Big Ten Tournament title. Hummel was also the Big Ten Conference Tournament MVP in 2009 and earned many other awards and distinctions, including the Senior CLASS Award, Associated Press All-America honorable mentions, and making the All-Big Ten First team in 2008, 2010, and 2012.
