A native of Yuba City, California, Max Stassi is the starting catcher for the Chicago White Sox. Prior to his professional career, Max was an accomplished player during his high school years. He was twice named Player of the Year by The Sacramento Bee and won gold with the United States national team in 2006 at the Pan American Games in Venezuela. Max was drafted in the fourth round of the 2009 MLB Draft by the Oakland Athletics and was invited to spring training in 2010 with the major league team.

In 2013, Max was traded to the Houston Astros, being promoted to the major league team on August 20 of that year. He impressively recorded two hits in that first start, making a name for himself on the big stage. Max was traded to the Los Angeles Angels in 2019, serving as a key piece of the team’s success. In 2021, he was named the American League Player of the Week while on a career hitting high. In December 2023, Stassi was traded to the White Sox.

Off the field, Max, and his brother Brock, who also played in the MLB, enjoy donating their time to community efforts in their hometown of Yuba City. The brothers started an annual charity event called “Homers for the Hungry,” where they have raised over $100,000 for local food banks.
