Born in El Segundo, California, Lars grew up in a multicultural household. His father, Charlie, is of Dutch, English, and German descent, while his mother, Kumiko, is Japanese. Breaking barriers and making history, Lars became the first non-native player in history to represent Team Samurai Japan in the 2023 World Baseball Classic. With his deep-rooted connection to his Japanese heritage, Lars proudly wore the national jersey, showcasing his extraordinary skills on an international stage.
