As an anchor at CBS Sports HQ, Joe Musso brings his passion for storytelling to the world of sports. As one of the leading voices on a platform that streams 24 hours a day, Musso hosts the nightly recap show, leads their NFL coverage, and hosts select shows on-site at major events like the NFL Combine, the Waste Management Open, the PGA Championship, and more. Musso also occasionally appears as a host on CBS Sports Network.
Prior to CBS, Musso was a sports anchor, reporter, and producer at KOVR News in Sacramento, California, and KOLN News in Lincoln, Nebraska. During that time, he covered stories ranging from the 2015 NFL Draft to the Chicago mayoral election. These experiences were invaluable, sharpening his abilities to report, shoot, write, and edit stories on a strict deadline.
Musso earned his Masters of Science in Journalism from Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism. Before attending graduate school, he spent two years working at Comcast SportsNet Chicago as an intern, production assistant and associate producer.
The proud Chicagoan received his bachelor’s degree in English writing and business administration from Illinois Wesleyan University. Musso also played football at IWU, where he was named team captain his senior season.
