Clint Capela

Clint Capela is a Swiss professional basketball player who has taken the NBA by storm. One of the league’s most dominant centers who is known for his explosive athleticism, rebounding prowess, and shot-blocking abilities, Capela began his professional career playing in the Swiss basketball league before being selected 25th overall by the Houston Rockets in the 2014 NBA Draft.

He quickly made a name for himself as a key contributor for the Rockets, earning praise from teammates and coaches alike for his tenacious defense and relentless work ethic. In 2020, Capela was traded to the Atlanta Hawks, where he continued to showcase his defensive prowess and dominant rebounding skills. He finished the season leading the league in rebounding, with an average of 14.3 rebounds per game, and was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team.

Clint has been involved in various philanthropic initiatives throughout his career, both in the United States and in his home country of Switzerland. In 2019, Capela founded the CC15 Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing children in foster care and children of low-income single-parents with the same opportunities and resources that are available to dual-parent, middle and upper-class families. The adversity Clint faced as a young man allows him to relate in a very special way to children who live in single-parent homes. Clint is the son of parents from Angola and the Congo. Shortly after birth, his father left the family, leaving his mother to raise Clint and his brothers by herself. The young boys were in and out of orphan homes, an experience that inspired Clint to create the foundation.
