Brandon Crawford is the starting shortstop for the St. Louis Cardinals. Previously, he played for the San Francisco Giants. As a native of San Francisco’s Bay Area, Brandon grew up as a Giants fan and regularly attended games with his family who were season ticket holders. At Foothill High School in Pleasanton, California, Brandon was a three-sport athlete, but chose to pursue college baseball at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he was a 2x MVP. He helped bring the Bruins to the NCAA Regionals for three consecutive seasons, as well as the first time in UCLA baseball history.
In 2008, Brandon was selected in the fourth round of the MLB Draft by the Giants organization. He made his MLB debut in 2011 and was the 6th player ever to hit a grand slam in his first major league game. Brandon has excelled in his life-long career as a Giant, helping the team win two World Series rings, and being selected as a 3x MLB All-Star, 4x Gold Glove winner, and 1x Silver Slugger Award winner. In 2021, Brandon agreed to a historic two-year extension with the Giants worth $32 million.
Brandon will forever be a baseball legend with his unmatched ability to perform clutch at the plate, break records, and charm a crowd. Off the field, Brandon enjoys spending time with his wife, Jalynne, and their four children, Braylyn, Jaydyn, Braxton, and Bryson. Every year, Brandon hosts the Crawford Charity Golf Tournament, raising money to help find a cure for ALS, which is a cause that remains close to his heart.
