Aaron Boone is one of the most recognizable figures in the recent history of the New York Yankees. From his famous walk-off home run in Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS, sending New York to the World Series, to leading the historic club as its manager, Boone will forever be inextricably linked with the New York Yankees.
A California native, Boone starred at the University of Southern California, and following a decorated college baseball career, was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 1994 MLB Draft. He went on to play seven seasons for the Reds, as well as stops with the Yankees, Indians, Marlins, Nationals and Astros across his 13-year MLB career.
Following his retirement from playing, Boone worked for ESPN as a baseball analyst on both radio and TV. He appeared on Monday Night Baseball and Baseball Tonight, eventually becoming the lead analyst for Sunday Night Baseball.
Prior to the 2018 season, Boone was named the manager of the New York Yankees. An instant success, Boone became the first manager in MLB history to have 100 or more wins in each of his first two seasons. During his tenure, he has guided the club to the postseason in each of his first five seasons at the helm and has won the vaunted AL East twice.
Boone resides with his wife and four children in the Greater New York City area.
